Grades five and six have made a study of European Geography.
Grade five initially researched Spain to understand its topography, physical features, capital city and the qualities that distinguish it from other European countries.
Grade six focused more on other European countries.
After the first few weeks we made mixed age groups to work in teams, on different countries (learning how to work together, share information and research).
For the final individual project, each student has been allocated a country to research independently and present to the class.
My Heart Soars
The beauty of the trees,
the softness of the air,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.
The summit of the mountain,
the thunder of the sky,
the rhythm of the sea,
speaks to me.
The faintness of the stars,
the freshness of the morning,
the dewdrop of the flower,
peaks to me.
The strength of fire,
the taste of salmon
the trail of the sun,
And the life that never goes away,
they speak to me.
And my heart soars.
